Unfulfilled desire to have children - Causes
Unfulfilled desire to have a child is when pregnancy does not occur within one year despite regular, unprotected sexual intercourse. This can be very stressful and can have various causes, one third of which can lie with the woman, one third with the man and one third with the couple. In 10-15% of cases of infertility no cause can be determined (idiopathic infertility). It is important that both partners be clarified in order to identify the problems. Only then can we treat and advise you individually and correctly.
Possible problems with the woman
-
Disorders of hormone production in the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal cortex or ovaries, which can lead to impaired oocyte maturation
-
Malformation of the ovaries, fallopian tubes or uterus
-
Endometriosis: Endometrial tissue that grows outside the uterus, for example in the fallopian tube, ovary or urinary bladder.
-
Immunological defense processes: formation of antibodies against egg or sperm cells
Possible problems with the man

Impaired or absent testicular function. This can manifest itself in the production of too few or malformed sperm
-
Incorrect placement or closure of the seminal ducts
-
Testicular infection, undescended testicles or varicose veins on the testicles
-
Congenital malformations of the testicle
